Evening falls on St. Govan’s Chapel nestled into the cliffs of Pembrokeshire, Wales. This chapel speaks to the hardship Celtic Saints endured as the spread out from Ireland into Wales.

My little boy made a good subject while I was playing with a 60cmx60cm softbox.
You can see the shape of the softbox in the reflection of his eyes.
Shot with a Canon 60D, Canon 430EX II through a 60cm x 60cm softbix that was placed to the left of the camera aimed 45 degrees down towards him.
50mm, ISO 100, Exposure 1/80 at f1.8, Flash Manual Exposure at 1/2 through softbox.
After spending the morning shooting else where and a quick lunch in McAllen, we needed a nice location to take advantage of the clear afternoon skies. With their multitude of shallow, accessible wetlands, Estero Llano Grande State Park is always a safe bet for any light. After registering we hit the trails and found a nice warm patch of mud to settle into. We spent several hours laying amongst a lovely flock of Green-winged Teals. Great way to spend a February evening in the Lower Rio Grande Valley!
this is the second of two, direct into sunlight photos. harsh light is always hard to tame. wish there were more clouds, though i lucked out with the “angel wings” if you look at the satellite view, you can see the exact mound this was taken on. pretty nifty.
